Foley Art!

Posted: February 16, 2012 in Uncategorized

Well, it’s been awhile since our last update. The MFL project is still moving along according to schedule. The more it comes together, the more excited we get to hear the finished product and share it with our listeners. We spent last evening back at the recording studios of Hennepin County Technical College. In what was scheduled as the project’s last in-studio session, we tracked the Foley sound effects. It was a ton of fun! If you are unfamiliar with Foley Art, it’s basically re-creating sound effects to add them into the production. It ‘s pretty amazing to think of all the sound effects that get re-created in movies and audio productions. Here’s a short video that shows some professionals in action. Anyways, back to the MFL project…we had two studios to work in last night, which was awesome because it allowed us to complete all the recording. Unfortunately, it meant that there wasn’t much down time to snap photos. Oh well, work before play, right? Here are a few…

We hauled in quite the menagerie of props…

Cue sheets helped keep us on track and in-sync with our audio production team. By the way, Phil, Jake, and Jamie, you guys are great to work with! Thanks for all your help!

The room was a bit messy when we were finished ripping and wrinkling paper, throwing baskets, and slamming books…

Keep checking back for updates. We are hoping to release the finished product sometime mid-late March.
